As data analysis continues to improve


there will be some new ideas tried. Some will stick some won't. I always wondered why teams always pre-publish who would pitch. I know they need x days rest so you can figure it out but I think keeping the team guessing always helps as far as any edge goes.

If you have a unique guy like TB has then it makes sense, The Astros pitchers are mostly righties, but we have a guy Devenski who is right handed but annihilates left-handed batters. If you had someone like Morton and they stack lefties it would make sense to start Devenski in that case. But then again when that lefty pinch hitter comes up and you need the out you don't have him.
